How private ranked matches work on 6Humanos
6Humanos runs Rocket League PUGs for Latin America: private 3v3 and 2v2 matches by tier, with their own MMR and a monthly ladder. This is everything that happens from logging in with Discord to the end of your match.
What a PUG is
PUG stands for pick-up game: a match between players who don't show up as a team. You join a queue on your own and, when it fills up, the teams are made.
On 6Humanos those matches are played in private Rocket League lobbies. They don't count towards your in-game rank: they count towards your 6Humanos MMR, with a ladder for each mode.
How to get started
Log in with Discord
You use your Discord account and need to be in the 6Humanos server. If you aren't yet, the site gives you a button to join and updates on its own once you're in.
Link your Rocket League account
Epic Games or Steam. If you play on PlayStation or Xbox, link your Epic Games account: it's the one Rocket League uses on every platform.
Do the rankcheck
We check your rank and give you a tier. Without a rankcheck you can still play the Universal queue and open events.
Join a queue
When it fills up, you confirm you're ready and the match starts coming together.
The rankcheck
It's how we verify your rank. We use your account's public stats and take your best rank between 2v2 and 3v3 from the current Rocket League season. It's automatic and your tier is assigned right away.
You only do it once: after that your tier changes by playing, and only the staff can ask for a new one. If the check doesn't work, open a ticket in #soporte and the staff will review your rank.
Tiers: who you play with
Your tier comes from the rankcheck and decides which queues you play: your tier's and the one below it. For example, a Tier 3 player can play Tier 3 and Tier 4.
Some queues have a limit on players from the tier above. If it's full, you'll see the queue but can't join until a spot opens up.
| Tier | RL rank |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | No RL rank leads to this tier: staff assigns it. |
| Tier 2 | Grand Champion II or higher |
| Tier 3 | Champion III to Grand Champion I |
| Tier 4 | Diamond III to Champion II |
| Tier 5 | Gold I to Diamond II |
Below Gold I you cannot play yet.
Same cuts and same queues in 3v3 and 2v2: the rankcheck takes your best rank.
You can't reach Tier 1 through rank or MMR: the staff assigns it.
Queues
There are 3v3 and 2v2 queues: a match needs 6 players in 3v3 and 4 in 2v2.
You can be in several queues at once. The first one to fill up is your match and you leave the others.
Universal queue
Open to every tier, with no rankcheck: being in the server is enough. It has its own MMR and ladder, everyone starts at 0, each match adds or takes away 10, and there are no promotions or demotions.
Events
The staff also runs events, with their own queue and leaderboard. While an event day is on, the other queues are paused.
From the queue to the match
Check-in
When the queue fills up you have 7 minutes. Depending on the match, you do it by joining the voice channel on Discord or by confirming on the site: the screen tells you which. If you don't, you lose 10 MMR and can't queue for a while.
Team selection
You vote on the mode: Balanced splits players so the teams are as even as possible, Captains runs a draft and Random draws them. You have 60 seconds to vote and a tie is decided by a draw.
Lobby
One of the players creates the private match in Rocket League and the rest join with the name and password. The details are on the site, in the match's text channel and in a Discord DM.
Play
Everyone has to be in the match's voice channel. If someone disconnects or leaves, anyone in the match can request a sub from the site.
Result
Voting opens 3 minutes into the match and the result with the most votes wins. If the votes conflict with no majority, the staff decides.
MMR
After every match with a result, your MMR goes up if you win and down if you lose. How much depends on how favored your team was: between even teams the match is worth 8, and beating a stronger team gives you more.
Each mode has its own MMR, and every match has a public page with the teams, who won and how much MMR each player gained or lost.
Seasons and promotions
A season lasts one month and closes on Buenos Aires time. At the end, the top players move up a tier and the bottom ones move down.
You can also move during the month: you go up when your MMR passes your tier's upper limit, with at least 5 matches, and down if it falls more than 10 points below the lower limit.
With each new season your MMR goes back to your tier's starting value. In the Universal it goes back to 0.
